2025 Cologne Retreat
From 9 to 10 October, the retreat of the doctoral programme ‘New Challenges in Ageing Societies’ took place in Cologne.
The aim of the retreat was to facilitate professional exchange and in-depth discussion of the scholarship holders' doctoral projects.
The event provided an opportunity to present research findings and reflect jointly on key issues. Participants took the opportunity to reflect on their research experiences to date, discuss methodological challenges and formulate goals for their future work.
Topics discussed ranged from sexual diversity and identity in old age to migration and opportunities for participation, climate change, care, dementia and social innovation in elderly care.
